CI: HACS action fails the license check, repo has no LICENSE file #151

Open

Description

@seevee

CI is red on the 6.8 tag and on the master push before it. One check fails, in the HACS & Hassfest job:

<Validation license> failed: The repository has no license (More info: https://hacs.xyz/docs/publish/include#check-license )
<Integration finity69x2/nws_alerts> 1/9 checks failed

Lint, type check and tests pass on the same run: https://github.com/finity69x2/nws_alerts/actions/runs/39062166179

6.8 didn't cause it. HACS added the license validator on July 4 in hacs/integration#5343. The weekly scheduled run was green on July 1 and has failed every week since July 8. The validator skips forks, so PR runs like #148 never hit it.

It wants an OSI-approved license at the repo root, in text GitHub can identify. There's no LICENSE file in the tree or in the history. The README doesn't say what the code ships under either, so I didn't want to pick one. A root LICENSE with MIT, Apache-2.0 or GPL text clears it. The action has an ignore input, but hacs.xyz says it has to pass "without any errors or ignores", so that only hides it.

Which license did you have in mind for this one?
