…ng after 2026-11-03 GET /v2/search/research/github is deprecated in the API (apps/api/src/lib/deprecations.ts, v2_research_github_search, sunset Tue, 03 Nov 2026) and replaced by the developer index, which this CLI already exposes as `firecrawl developer`. The hosted MCP server hid its firecrawl_research_search_github tool on 2026-09-03; this CLI still advertised the command with no notice. The command keeps working until the sunset. Its help text and the README table say it is deprecated and name the replacement, and the handler prints one line to stderr on every run (stdout stays the result, so scripts are unaffected). The pattern is the one the browser command already uses. Verified: pnpm build (tsc) clean, pnpm test 34 files, 571 tests passed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Review on #260: `firecrawl research --help` still said "Also searches GitHub issue/PR history" and listed the search-github example as a normal one. The parent description now says the GitHub search moved to `firecrawl developer` and that search-github is deprecated with the 2026-11-03 sunset, and the example block shows the developer command with the deprecation in a trailing note. Build and the 571 tests unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

- No files require special attention.
Shadow auto-approve: would auto-approve. Adds deprecation notices for research search-github in help text, README, and per-run stderr while leaving stdout and endpoint calls unchanged. The deprecation originates upstream in the API and MCP server, so this is a bounded messaging change with no rollout or operational tradeoff.

Summary
GET /v2/search/research/githubis deprecated in the API (apps/api/src/lib/deprecations.ts,v2_research_github_search: "stops responding after 2026-11-03", replacement/v2/search/developer). The hosted MCP server hid itsfirecrawl_research_search_githubtool on 2026-09-03 (firecrawl-mcp-server #395); this CLI still advertisedresearch search-githubwith no notice. A customer ticket (#40736) followed the MCP change the same day, and the Claude connector listing is being corrected in parallel. What changes
src/index.ts: the command's help text starts with[Deprecated: use \firecrawl developer`; the endpoint stops responding after 2026-11-03]`, the pattern the browser command uses.src/commands/research.ts: the handler prints one deprecation line to stderr on every run, namingfirecrawl developer <query>and the docs page. stdout is unchanged, so scripts keep working until the sunset.README.md: the example comment and the subcommand table say the same.No behaviour change otherwise; the command still calls the endpoint.
Verification

Decided under the Asana task "Fix the Claude connector listing to the six tools the server serves, and tell Anthropic" (step 4). The npm
firecrawl-mcppackage needs no code change: main already hides the tool on every profile and answers cached callers withDEPRECATED_TOOL; publishing 3.24.1 carries that to stdio users (3.24.0 on npm predates it).🤖 Generated with Claude Code

research search-githubas deprecated because its endpoint stops responding after 2026-11-03, and points users tofirecrawl developer. The command keeps working until then; its own help text, the parentresearch --helptext, the README, and a stderr warning on every run all name the deprecation and replacement, and stdout is unchanged so scripts stay unaffected.Written for commit c60653e.
