What does the static setting do?

Why does the gateway disconnect if Static=10253?

It doesn't actually disconnect, however it is no longer the current TG. So any activity on any of the static TGs, or by local activity, will cause the current TG to change. The naming is a bit wrong as it's based on when the gateway didn't have the concept ot static TGs. In other words that log message indicates the TG has become inactive, rather than disconnecting. correct?

I believe I'm hearing "Connecting to xxx" messages with local activity on the TG, which further leads to confusion what is actually happening.
