Feature: Tray icon and minimize/close to tray?

I know FF doesn't natively support system tray but is there any chance of adding it in for this project? Even if it just allowed it to be in the tray and clicking it restored the window and nothing else, it would be useful IMO. But I have no idea how hard adding that might be.

This feature is already in Neutron. Is it not working for you?

I don't see any sys tray icon on LXQT. It is working in general, the Signal flatpak has an icon there, as well as non-flatpak apps. But nothing for Datcord

Seems like most of my other apps (Qlipper, Signal, Blueman, Telegram I think too but seems like their implementation is jacked up in some way) in the tray are mostly using org.kde.StatusNotifier and com.canonical.dbusmenu.

Any chance of getting this working on Linux? Closing the program with the X button leaves it running, I presume because it is trying to be in the tray? But it isn't there and I have kill it with process monitor/kill command

You can disable it running in the background by going to ~/.<app name (datcord for Datcord)>/config.txt and changing run_in_background=true to run_in_background=false. In terms of getting the tray functionality to actually work on your DE, I'm currently using this tray library, and I might have to switch to something else to get it working. What's interesting is that on my DE (xfce), Signal does not have a tray icon, so you seemingly need to have 2 separate implementations to have tray icons working everywhere.

~/.var/app/io.github.gamingdoom.Datcord/.datcord/config.txt for my flatpak. File was empty, putting that in with true was same behavior, with false it indeed keeps it from hanging around in the background. Works well enough until tray can be worked on. Really sucks, seems like the systray landscape needs a lot of work right now. It worked much better for the end user back when it was just xembed...
