Padding operator for the non-periodic BCs

May I ask, since the Fourier transform can also be applied to non periodic data, is it possible not to perform the first step of padding operation under the FNO framework? Will it have any impact on the results?

Hey, sorry for the. late reply - padding will impact the result, and we highly recommand to have padding when applied to non-periodic data.
