4 years as a GitHub Campus Expert π, where I worked closely with fellow Campus Experts to organize technical workshops, hackathons, tech career fairs, and Twitter Spaces aimed at building sustainable tech communities. These initiatives helped students develop market-relevant technical skills while creating opportunities to network with IT professionals.
I also raised awareness of the GitHub Education Pack and the GitHub Campus Expert Program, showing students how to leverage these resources effectively.
During this time, I organized over 30 tech events, conferences, and workshops, engaging more than 3,000 students.
2 years as a Postman Student expert, where I worked with students and communities to advocate for API literacy, consuming APIs, designing APIs, API security and deploying APIs, have run workshops impacting more than 100+ students in cooperation with fellow community leaders in universities and outside universities.
I am currently working on establishing an open source Africa chapter in Tanzania , Dar es Salaam advocating for open source and welcoming newbies to contribute to open source projects as means to learn , give back to the community and build their portfolios. I love curating and creating in the arts π¨. With my phone π± and camera πΈ, I enjoy photography π· and videography πΉ, capturing images and motion that tell meaningful stories.
On my PC π», Iβm a seasoned graphic designer π¨ποΈ, creative photographer πΈ, and video editor πΉ. I also explore immersive art, generative art, game design, and video art installations.
Offline, I write poetry π, do pencil sketching π, and enjoy reading books π.
My artwork is the result of lived experiences, my own, those who came before me, and those I share with others today. It centers on the exploration of humanity and culture from an Afro-centred perspective, while simultaneously seeking to emancipate existing narratives from all forms of bondage, whether self-imposed, colonial, or neo-colonial.
The work sets a tone rather than a conclusion. Meaning is ultimately shaped by the audience through their own lived experiences. It is created to provoke questions that, as humans, we often avoid or run from, yet deeply contemplate. Through this provocation, the work aims to drive critical conversations that enable us, collectively as people of the African continent, to progress through constructive dialogue and shared, unique experiences.
My practice heavily leverages technology, particularly new media such as Extended Reality (XR), projection mapping, and artificial intelligence, while remaining grounded in first-hand narratives and lived realities. My faith and belief are that technology has the power to enhance how we tell our stories. I am committed to experimenting, exploring, and pushing these tools to do exactly that, with the intention of changing one life at a time.
