boundaries within 50 ms but dropped noisy phrase deletes to 82%, so it is not
applied.

Snapping a cut between two words said without a pause (a gap under 100 ms) to
the quietest point near their boundary, leaving the word times alone, was
measured for issue #1023 and left out. The reference is what the transcript
pane already does: a cut next to kept speech breathes up to the middle of a
short gap (`src/lib/ai-edition/timeline/cut-breath.ts`), which on the corpus
with the aligner gives 51% clean one-word deletes and 95% clean phrase deletes
(49% and 94% with the cut on the word times). Against that:

- moving the cut to the lowest-energy 10 ms within ±10, 20 or 30 ms gives 48%,
41% and 33% clean one-word deletes. Inside continuous speech a fricative or
a stop closure next to the boundary is quieter than the boundary itself, so
the minimum lands inside a word;
- moving it only onto near-silence (30 dB under the boundary) touches 48 of
6,509 boundaries at ±20 ms and changes no figure.

The old RMS snap failed the same way (step 6 above).

The recognition call returns **both** the phrase segments and the per-word
segments in one pass
