What

The openscreen-demo skill can now end a video by attaching it to a pull request, so reviewers watch the change in place: "Add a video of this change to the PR."

  • Pull request video: 1 to 3 beats, 10 to 30 s, showing what the change does rather than the whole product, one short callout per beat.
  • Export at 720p (quality: "medium") and a size check against GitHub's video limit: 10 MB in a repository on a free plan, 100 MB on a paid one.
  • Attached with gh, version 2.99.0 or later: gh pr comment <n> --body-file … --attach video.mp4 on an existing pull request, or --attach on gh pr create. The video sits alone in its paragraph, so GitHub shows a player rather than a link. With an older gh, the agent asks for an update, uses a browser tool, or hands over the file.
  • Only on a pull request the user asked a video for, or one the agent opens for them in that task. The video is never committed to the repository.
  • The launch demo with its X post stays the other ending, still published only after the user's explicit yes.
  • Docs: the README leads with the pull request use, and ai-editing.md (every locale) and llms.txt mention it.

Sources

  • Attaching files with GitHub CLI: --attach on gh issue/gh pr create, edit and comment; a video alone in its paragraph renders as a player; push access required.
  • Attaching files: MP4, MOV and WebM; 10 MB on free plans, 100 MB on paid plans.
  • gh v2.99.0 release notes introduce --attach.

Verification

Docs and skill only, no code. Not run end to end yet: the maintainer's gh is 2.88.1. Planned dogfood once it is updated: the agent records this change's video and attaches it to this pull request.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • AI-generated demo videos can now be attached to pull requests for reviewers to watch. Videos are prepared for sharing without committing them to the repository.
    • You can also request a launch demo and an X post draft; the post is published only after approval.
  • Documentation
• Updated the workflow guidance and available language translations to describe both video-sharing options.

Walkthrough

The openscreen-demo skill now describes separate workflows for pull-request videos and launch demos. It adds instructions for attaching pull-request videos, and the README and website descriptions reflect both workflows.

Teams using GitHub Enterprise Server cannot use the documented command to attach PR videos, though the issue is limited to that workflow and can be addressed with a host-specific fallback.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description explains the feature, sources, and verification status, but it does not follow the repository template. It omits the required Summary, Related issue, Type of change, Release impact, Desktop impact, Screenshots / video, and Testing headings, and it does not select the applicable checkboxes.

Resolution

Update the description to use all template headings. Add the applicable issue reference or state that none applies, select Documentation and any other relevant change, select the release impact and Not platform-specific where applicable, retain the video details, and move the verification information into the Testing section.

Comment thread skills/openscreen-demo/SKILL.md
The skill can now end a video by attaching it to a pull request, so reviewers watch the change in place: 10 to 30 s, exported at 720p to fit GitHub's 10 MB video limit on free plans, embedded as a player with `gh pr comment --attach` or `gh pr create --attach` (gh 2.99.0 or later), and only on a pull request the user asked a video for. The launch demo with its X post stays the other ending. README, llms.txt and ai-editing.md in every locale say so.
