fix: fit the chat agent's text annotations to their words, and refit them on a format change - #1160
Conversation
…and refit it on a format change The agent's tools run in the main process, where there is no canvas, so a text box was sized from a 0.56 em average advance: 538 px for the 587 px of a bold Inter title at 64 px, and the compositor wrapped its last word out of the box. Measure with the advances of the font files the compositor draws (fontTables.ts, text-measure.ts). A format change now refits a text box to its words in the new frame instead of scaling its shape, and brings a size the frame cannot hold on one line down until it fits. Images and arrows keep their shape as before. Fixes #1159

📝 Walkthrough
Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to Most annotations are unaffected, but exceptionally long text can extend beyond the frame at the minimum font size, and a malformed configured font can interrupt agent placement or aspect-ratio changes. These are bounded edge cases for owner awareness. Pre-merge checks ·

It keeps the 8 px floor and a box fitted to its one line, left-aligned on the frame, rather than wrapping out of its box.

Summary
A text annotation the chat agent adds is now fitted to its words, and stays fitted when the format changes.
measureTextBlockhas noOffscreenCanvasthere and falls back to a 0.56 em average advance. For "Demo OpenScreen" in bold Inter at 64 px that gives 538 px, while the real width is 587 px. The box left 554 px for the text inside the plate, so the compositor wrapped "OpenScreen" out of the box, in 16:9 already.annotations/fontTables.tsreadscmap,hmtxandhheafrom the TrueType files the compositor draws with. Kerning is ignored, and since it tightens, the sum of advances is an upper bound.electron/ai-edition/text-measure.tsfinds those files:OPENSCREEN_FONTS_DIR, then<VITE_PUBLIC>/fonts, then<resources>/fonts. If no file is found, it falls back to the old estimate. The agent'splaceTextOnFrameandsetAspectRatiouse this measure.refitFrameAnnotationsnow refits a frame text box to its words in the new frame through the newfitTextInFrame, instead of scaling its shape. A box that was measured wrong does not stay wrong. When the frame cannot hold the font size on one line, the size comes down just enough (rounded down) and the box is refitted. 64 px of bold Inter does not fit a 9:16 frame's width, so this title becomes 61 px. Images and arrows keep their shape as before. In the renderer the editor's own format change goes through the same function with its canvas measure.Related issue

Testing
electron/ai-edition/agent-tools.test.ts: new case that replays the e2e turn. It sets 16:9, adds the 64 px title, then switches to 9:16, and checks that the box leaves room for the measured words in both formats, that the box is at most 100 % wide, that the font size comes down below 64 and that the title stays centred. It also adds the same title straight into 9:16. On the old code the case fails with -32.9 px of room in 16:9.src/lib/ai-edition/annotations/fontTables.test.ts: reads every shipped font, pins Inter bold "Demo OpenScreen" at 586.5 px, checks weights, families, scaling, lines, missing glyphs and the fallback.placement.test.ts:fitTextInFrame, and the text refit in both directions (16:9 to 9:16 and back) with the same pixel width. Image shape keeping is unchanged.useEditorSettings.test.tsis updated to expect the refit.npx tsc --noEmit,npx tsc -p tsconfig.test.json --noEmit,npm run lint, npx vitest --run src/lib/ai-edition electron/ai-edition(1615 tests), plus a fullnpm run test. Not checked by hand: a 9:16 export of an agent title in the GUI. The tests cover the sizing logic against the real font file. Preview and export draw from the stored box, which is what changed.
