Review comments at @technical-documentation/testing/manual-e2e-checklist.md:
- Line 34: Update the macOS 26 guidance around `UserNotificationCenter` in the
manual E2E checklist: describe it as an installed app to request access for
unmasking its notification windows, and clarify that this does not grant
Automation permission, which the operator must handle separately via the Apple
Events/TCC prompt. Preserve the surrounding Screen Recording, Accessibility, and
save-panel guidance.

Superseded by #1224: same diff as one commit on top of |
Partial pass on macOS 26.5 (M1): MCP section on both servers, #1194, #1180 tools, CLI captions and a scoped app slice under the legacy picker. Also records which process owns the macOS permission prompts, what a UserNotificationCenter grant gives, and that a launch from Terminal files the prompts under Terminal. Same content as #1212, in one commit so it can be rebased.
Results row for the computer-use e2e pass on macOS, run against the CI artifact of
main@0bed36852(build run 38581408372, notarized DMG, About2.0.0 (dmg)), on macOS 26.5, Mac mini M1, one 4K display at 2x.Scope: MCP server section on both servers (stdio and in-app HTTP, SDK client), #1194 on macOS, the #1180 editor tools, MP4/GIF export over MCP (#1197),
Openscreen captions, and a scoped app slice. Every take used the legacy selector or MCP; Apple's picker slice was skipped at the operator's request.Defects found:
startRecordingreturns "capture had not started" after 120 s while the bar records, and on macOS the take is then lost (no file, no editor). Same root cause as on Windows, fixed onmainby c541fff after this build; needs a macOS re-run.Openscreen mcpstdio session runs, opening OpenScreen from Finder oropenstarts no GUI; LaunchServices activates themcpprocess, which turns Foreground with its own Dock icon after its first take.open -nworks around it.getFramescannot read a GIF ("Chromium could not decode the video (media error 4)"), withpathor after a GIF export, on both servers.SCContentFilter(desktopIndependentWindow:)keeps only that app's audio); display takes are fine.Checklist text: step 4 now names
universalAccessAuthWarnas the owner of the macOS permission prompts, and the CI-artifact section records that a launch from Terminal files them under Terminal, with theopen --envlaunch that avoids it.Summary by CodeRabbit
open -nwhile an MCP stdio server is running.
