LinkSaver is a modern browser extension that helps you save links, organize them into categories, and customize your experience with a settings page. Perfect for keeping your bookmarks structured, accessible, and manageable.

⚡ Installation & Adding to Browser

Follow these steps to install LinkSaver on your browser. Make sure you have the extension files on your computer (from cloning the repo or downloading the .zip).


1️⃣ Chrome

  1. Open Chrome → go to chrome://extensions/
  2. Enable Developer Mode (top-right toggle)
  3. Click Load unpacked
  4. Select the folder containing manifest.json
  5. The LinkSaver icon will appear in your toolbar ✅

2️⃣ Brave

  1. Open Brave → go to brave://extensions/
  2. Enable Developer Mode
  3. Click Load unpacked
  4. Select the folder containing manifest.json
  5. The LinkSaver icon will appear in your toolbar ✅

3️⃣ Edge

  1. Open Edge → go to edge://extensions/
  2. Enable Developer Mode
  3. Click Load unpacked
  4. Select the folder containing manifest.json
  5. The LinkSaver icon will appear in your toolbar ✅

4️⃣ Firefox

Note: Firefox uses slightly different extension files (manifest.json compatible with WebExtensions).

  1. Open Firefox → go to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox
  2. Click Load Temporary Add-on
  3. Select manifest.json from the extension folder
  4. The LinkSaver icon will appear in the toolbar ✅

📝 Usage

  1. Click the LinkSaver icon in the toolbar.
  2. To save a link:
    • Click Add Link
    • Assign it to a category or create a new one
  3. Open the Settings page to:
    • Change theme color
    • Manage categories
    • Adjust preferences
  4. Manage saved links directly from the popup or settings page.

  • Use Ctrl+Shift+I (Cmd+Option+I on Mac) to open DevTools for debugging.
