Another thing to try might be disabling the default shortcuts in the Keyboard section of System Preferences. E.g. for some users `ctrl-F2` moves the focus to the menu bar and prevents the usage of `ctrl-shift-F2` for creating a new session.

## Incorporating with an existing profile

Simply export your current prefered profile (Preferences|Profile| * |Export...) and open its xml file in a text editor. Then paste in the key `keyMapBoundKeys` along with the dict of keyboard options. Then save and re-import the profile.
