I run Home (myplace.gg), my own Discord community, and it's where I actually spend my time. Beyond that, late.sh is my other regular hangout, and I'm honoured to be a developer and moderator on it.
An interactive terminal game that turns your shell into a full systems administration training ground. No slides, no video: you type real commands against a real simulated environment, and a mentor character reacts to every answer.
61 levels across 12 tiers, building from the absolute basics all the way up to topics most "Linux 101" courses never touch: navigation, permissions, and scripting, then pipes and regex, then LVM and filesystems, Samba and NFS, full enterprise networking with VLANs and firewalls, iSCSI and SAN storage, GRUB and kernel panics, building a kernel from source, and finally ricing a tiling window manager (i3, AwesomeWM) as the finale. Finish it and you can comfortably administrate a corporate network, or set up a genuinely great-looking home desktop.
