# Convert a bitcoin address to its corresponding Stacks address

Every base58-encoded bitcoin address can be easily converted to its corresponding Stacks address. This conversion can be done on-chain by implementing the base58 encoding scheme in Clarity.

## Use cases

- Abstracting away Stacks address usage for native bitcoin users
- Onboard bitcoin users onto Stacks with familiar UX
- Verify Stacks asset ownership of a bitcoin address
