Work Plan

We agreed on a 10-step work plan that is INDEPENDENT on Google book access (we are not sure when the data will become available).

1. Colin/Jaimie create and share with us unique list of all references
2. Colin/Jaimie create similarity matrix for those references based on co-citation/mentioning.
3. Jaimie documents planned semantic analyses so that Katy can provide feedback.
4. Colin/Jaimie identify number of book references.
5. Katy’s team overlays data from (1) on science map.
6. Katy’s team creates “spotlight” maps and bi-modal network vis, see above discussion.
7. Colin/Jaimie work on “query expansion” to be used later to get relevant full text from Google books for use by UK teams.
8. UK does argument analysis/visualization
9. Katy and Colin write paper draft that details the above steps even more and identifies promising research Qs.
10. We all meet again on Aug 14, 2p. Robert attends Hathi meeting on Aug 21 (Chin Hua and Katy are on the way to VIVO Conf then).

Robert will contact Ruth Eberle reberle@indiana.edu to get complete data on 50,000 SEP references. We can only get 30,000. Need info on DB Dictionary. Abhinav Rane, student from CS can help.

Chin Hua gets listing of phil journals. Share via cns wiki.

Katy and Robert will identify what SEP references are books, journals, on the map, are in which of the 13 disciplines, etc

Google books based on what books are part of the 50,000, get full text of those books, e.g.,

Morgan, C. L. (1894). An Introduction to Comparative Psychology. London: W. Scott, limited.
Köhler, W. (1925). The Mentality of Apes. New York, Harcourt, Brace.
