You should never use composables meant for Vue or Nuxt in API routes. You are going to be able to get a NuxtApp instance in server routes...

so useRollbar(); or useNuxtApp().$rollbar; won't work.

I'm confused as to what the serverAccessToken is used for?

I see in this implementation for the server-side they initialise Rollbar as an errorMiddleware

serverAccessToken is optional. It is used for tracking Rollbar on the server-side, Commonly useful for tracking queries, middleware, composables, or anything that runs on the server. APIs and server handlers are not tested, but I can consider this as an improvement. Meanwhile, clientAccessToken is used for tracking Rollbar on the client-side only. This package does not implement any middleware or "auto" tracking. If you need to track Vue or Nuxt errors, you will need to do it yourself. This approach makes the package smaller and customizable.
