🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

1. Java JDK (version 8 or higher) - Download
2. XAMPP (Apache Friends) - Download
3. MySQL JDBC Driver (automatically included in lib/ folder)

Installation Steps

Step 1: Setup Database

1. Install and start XAMPP - ensure MySQL service is running
2. Open phpMyAdmin: http://localhost/phpmyadmin
3. Create a new database named hardware store
4. Run the SQL script: Import database_setup.sql into the database

Step 2: Compile the Project

# Option 1: Double-click compile.bat
compile.bat

# Option 2: Use command line
javac -encoding UTF-8 -cp "lib/*" -d bin src/*.java

Step 3: Run the Application

run.bat

1. Login → Dashboard shows admin menu
2. Manage Products: View all products in table format
   • ➕ Add new products with full details (name, price, stock, category)
   • ✏️ Edit existing products
   • ❌ Delete products from inventory
3. Manage Users: See all registered customers
4. My Profile: Update personal information and password
