QuerySmith 0.5.0 - first public release

Build Calibre searches by field - filter your library by whether a field has a value or is empty, all from a menu, with no search syntax to type. QuerySmith is read-only and non-destructive: it composes a search and places it in the search bar, and never modifies your books.

Highlights

• Fill-state filtering from the toolbar menu - find books where a field has a value or is empty, in one click. Built-in fields and custom columns alike.
• Combined filter - stack several conditions and join them with Match ALL (AND) or Match ANY (OR), with a live count of matching books as you build.
• Per-library presets - save a set of conditions and re-apply it from the toolbar; export and import them as JSON.
• Copy expressions - copy any field's :true / :false expression from its menu, or the full combined expression from the dialog, for reuse in saved searches or templates.

Install

• Manual: download QuerySmith.zip below, then in Calibre go to Preferences → Plugins → Load plugin from file, select the zip, and restart Calibre.
• From Calibre: Preferences → Plugins → Get new plugins and search for "QuerySmith" (available once it's listed in Calibre's plugin index).

Requires Calibre 6.0 or newer (Qt6).
