Summary

Add shared release-fix notifications through jdx/workflows, with a manual dry-run/recovery entry point.

Use the shared release-notification workflow for this project's publication flow.

Dependency and validation

Depends on jdx/workflows#4 and pins its implementation by immutable SHA. This is a draft rollout PR: shared-code safety review and project-specific publication-path validation are still in progress. No live notification dispatch or historical backfill is part of this PR. Do not merge until the shared dependency and relevant checks are settled.

Note

Low Risk
CI-only change that delegates to a pinned reusable workflow; no application runtime or auth logic is modified, though it will post to issues/PRs when releases publish.

Overview
Adds a comment release fixes GitHub Actions workflow that wires this repo into the shared jdx/workflows release-notification job (pinned to SHA 4c952564…, v1.1.0).

It runs when a release is published, passing the release tag and using marker prefix fnox-fixed-in so related PRs/issues can get “fixed in” comments. The same flow can be triggered manually via workflow_dispatch with a required tag and optional dry_run (defaults to true for manual runs; published releases use dry_run: false). The job requests read access to contents/PRs and write access to issues and discussions for posting comments.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Published releases can trigger comments identifying related fixes using the release tag.
    • You can also run the process manually by providing a tag and optionally enabling preview mode. Preview mode is enabled by default for manual runs; published-release runs post comments.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Keep this draft from sending live comments.

For a release event, inputs.dry_run is unset, so this expression passes false. The pinned workflow maps that value to DRY_RUN=0, and its script posts comments to closed issues and discussions. (raw.githubusercontent.com) The manual input also permits dry_run: false. Keep both entry points in dry-run mode until live dispatch is approved. This conflicts with the supplied PR objective that this draft does not include live notification dispatch.

🟠 Major · Pass dry_run as a boolean expression. · comment-release-fixes.yml:23

.github/workflows/comment-release-fixes.yml:23
🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Pass dry_run as a boolean expression.

.github/workflows/comment-release-fixes.yml:23 quotes the expression, so the reusable workflow receives a string at its with.dry_run boundary. The pinned workflow declares dry_run as boolean, and GitHub Actions requires boolean expressions to be unquoted. Published-release and manual invocations can therefore fail reusable-workflow input validation.

Suggested fix
-        dry_run: "${{ inputs.dry_run || false }}"
+        dry_run: ${{ inputs.dry_run || false }}

Remove the quotes around the dry_run expression in the reusable workflow’s with
input so GitHub Actions passes a boolean instead of a string; preserve the
existing expression and fallback behavior.

RetriggerConfidence Score: 5/5

[Low impact] The latest change appears safe, subject to the dependency review and publication checks already required by the PR description.

Summary

Adds release-fix notifications through an immutable shared workflow, with a manual preview and recovery option.

  • The latest change only rewrites the with mapping; input behavior is unchanged.
  • No new actionable issue or applicable rule violation was found.
  • The PR description still requires the shared dependency review and publication checks to finish before merging.
