Summary

Operator ruling 2026-10-29: this host shares CPU with continuous cargo builds, so the 1000 ms show budget trips on load, not regressions (BUG-HOME-018; the real ~700 ms scan was removed in #3105).

  • .aida/config.toml [performance.budgets]: show = { budget_ms = 2000, ceiling_ms = 5000 }, plus a comment recording the deliberate operator raise. The ceiling (ADR-53) still catches a hung call.
  • The 5000 ms ceiling and the default 10%/24h tolerance are unchanged.
  • The init_cmd.rs scaffold default is left alone on purpose, because this is a host-specific decision.

Validation

FASTTRACK (config only, nothing compiled): make check-ci-fast passed, 35/35 gates.

…or's 2000 ms value (TASK-b6b1278890774ef993d2ebc327862470-116)

The repo's .aida/config.toml show budget was raised to 2000 ms for this
build-loaded host; the dogfood test still pinned 1000 ms, turning CI
lib-1 red. Assert 2000 and cite the host decision; ceiling limb unchanged.

Review: PR-3109 (round 1) — ✅ Approved at 4bb9109

Acceptance criterion (TASK-HOME-116) Status
.aida/config.toml show = { budget_ms = 2000, ceiling_ms = 5000 } verified, .aida/config.toml:128
Comment above it records the deliberate operator raise on 2026-10-29; the ceiling still catches a hung call (ADR-53) verified, .aida/config.toml:127
5000 ms ceiling and 10%/24h tolerance unchanged verified, the only change in the config diff is the show line
doctor_cmd.rs this_repo_configures_a_ceiling_for_the_show_budget asserts budget_ms == 2000, with its message/doc citing TASK-HOME-116 verified, doctor_cmd.rs:4245-4266
ceiling_ms.is_some() check left unchanged verified, not in the diff
init_cmd.rs scaffold defaults left unchanged verified, the diff touches 2 files only
Exactly two files, on the existing PR-3109 branch verified, git diff origin/main...HEAD --stat
Targeted test passes, plus the CI gates verified by CI lib-1 (the job that was red on PR-3107) passing and all CI jobs green at the head

Deep pass: I checked the other budget_ms: 1000 uses in doctor_cmd.rs, maintenance_schedule.rs and schedule_ledger.rs. They are synthetic fixtures. The only other test that reads the repo's own config (repo_config_registers_dev_autopromote...) does not look at budgets. The new TOML comment is a full-line # comment, with no inline-comment parsing edge cases. No defects found.

CI: cli-0, cli-1, contracts, gates, lib-0, lib-1, rest and merge-hold-gate all pass. mergeStateStatus: CLEAN. https://github.com/joemooney/aida/actions/runs/40983009271
