No way to stop engine vs engine game

I started an engine vs engine game from a set position. They somehow got into a position where they weren't making progress so I wanted to stop it but save the pgn. There doesn't seem to be a way to do it currently and killing the engine process still didn't allow me to save it

Press "engine console" and then press "cancel" until the game ends. and you can save your progress.
