Warning: GH Copilot is banning accounts for "scripted interactions"

Today I got banned from GH copilot, I cannot say for sure that is specifically because of using the seamless-agent tools since they did not mention it on their email. The mail contained the following message:

Recent activity on your account has caught the attention of our abuse-detection systems. This activity may have included use of Copilot via scripted interactions, an otherwise deliberately unusual or strenuous nature, or use of unsupported clients or multiple accounts to circumvent billing and usage limits.

So take it into account if you are using the tool or are thinking about start using it.

I think you are in risk only if you use this tool (or any tool) to make a agent do extra long task or make task outside of the context.

I'm not saying that's what happened to @guillemsolerdev, but we need to know how it was being used to grasp what can trigger this system.

Without auto incriminating me in, I can only say that your points are on the right direction. The issue is figuring which of those things are causing the ban. There are many things that could be in play here, and some unrelated to the use of specific tool (GH Copilot rate limit for requests is extremely high), but I can only speculate. My guess is combination of GH copilot metrics/alerts, and then they examined the data and saw the tool usage (because they used the phrase scripted interactions).

@webblepebbles I got rate limited too. But i don't let the task running for too much time.

Letting the model calling a tool for hours is a great risk, though.

The idea is to use the tool to make the task finish successfully, using it to make multiple tasks may be considered abuse.

No updates, yes, I was only banned from Github Copilot. No refund since I was on the first month trial.

There are many causes that may trigger the ban. Known way is using copilot as API. I highly recommend keeping it running for 2-4hrs max per one session. After that start a new one. Additional info: 4regab/TaskSync#22

I think being on first month trial is a big factor.
