Hello all ! Thanks for the V2.1.9 (and thanks to Jeff for his help)
I've installed this new version and made a quick test.
The good point : the panadaptater scale seems OK at each scale ! Great
The bad point : there is sound ... but it is corrupted
Maybee something bad in my setup ?

It would be interesting to get the opinion from others testers...
NB : You mention a 312500 speed rate, but I can't find this value on the panel (max is at 192000)

Hi Bernie — thanks for turning around a test so quickly, and I'm glad the panadapter scale looks right at every span. That confirms v2.1.9 got the rate lift itself correct on the wire — the radio really is streaming at 312500 Hz to Artemis now, which is the wider spectrum coverage you're seeing.

The corrupted audio symptom combined with your screenshot showing VAC is a strong signal that this is a VAC-side issue rather than a wire/radio issue. VAC is a virtual audio cable driver — it's fine at 39062.5 → 48 kHz because the numbers cascade cleanly, but at higher input rates (312500 → 48 kHz or 192 kHz) it can produce clicks, tearing, or distorted audio depending on driver version and buffer settings. If your soundcard supports ASIO, Artemis has a direct cmASIO output path that bypasses VAC entirely and talks straight to the ASIO driver. That's what I'd try first before anything else.

Steps to switch to cmASIO (all in Setup → Audio):

1. Open Setup → Audio, then click the cmASIO tab (it's next to VAC1 / VAC2 / Options / etc.)
2. From the Device dropdown, pick your ASIO soundcard
3. Set the Input and Output channel pairs to match your soundcard's routing (usually the first stereo pair unless you have a specific reason)
4. Click Enable — the label at the bottom will say "Settings updated. Restart to take effect."
5. Close Setup, then fully exit Artemis (File → Exit) and relaunch
6. On relaunch, cmASIO takes over; VAC1/VAC2 aren't needed for RX audio anymore

You'll know cmASIO is active when the tab shows "Current cmASIO Device: [your device name]" at the top after restart. Once running, RX audio comes out of your ASIO device directly — no Windows kernel mixer, no VAC virtualization, and it handles the 312500 → 48 kHz downsample cleanly through WDSP internally.

On your 192000 question — that setting in the audio dropdown is Artemis's internal DSP sample rate for its own processing chain, not the wire IQ rate. WDSP decimates the 312500 IQ down to whatever internal rate is set (48 / 96 / 192 kHz) transparently, so you don't need to see 312500 in a dropdown anywhere; the wire rate is now hardcoded in the profile and doesn't need user configuration. If your DSP rate was working fine on v2.1.8 (at 39062.5 → 384 kHz upsample → 192 kHz), leaving it at 192000 for v2.1.9 is fine.

If cmASIO fixes the audio, we're done. If not, please share back:

• Your radio's firmware version (shown in EE's Firmware Manager as Version: X.Y on the radio card — helps confirm we're all on the same firmware baseline)
• A screenshot of Setup → Audio → cmASIO tab so I can see the device/pair settings you chose
• Whether cmASIO is showing "Current cmASIO Device: ..." after restart, or if it says something else

Hi again and thanks for the tutorial. I did it but I've got the same issue (audio corrupted) with cmASIO (which produce just the same audio than with VAC 1 "on").

Instead of my usual UMC Asio drivers, I tried also the Asio4 All drivers but it's the same story...
My firmware version is still 88.8

I’ve carried out the same tests as Bernie on Windows 10 with firmware version 88.8 on my SunSDR2 Pro. I’m experiencing exactly the same issue, both with VAC and when using the ASIO drivers.

The Panadapter works perfectly, but the audio sounds corrupted, as if there were millisecond-long micro-cuts, which gives the impression of distortion.

I’ve noticed that if I lower the audio sample rate – for example, from 44100 to 6000 – the audio sounds perfect, but instead of having micro-cuts where the audio drops out, the silent interval becomes longer, in case that’s of any help.

New: I’ve carried out another test by connecting to Artemis remotely via the TCI-Remote software. In this case, the audio is transmitted via the TCI protocol, and there’s no need to enable either VAC or ASIO.

The result is the same: distorted audio with brief dropouts.
