### Changed

- **A CLI timeout no longer reports that an action ran, and a missing
checkpoint database is a configuration error** ([#381](https://github.com/lacs-project/sysknife/pull/381), closes
[#335](https://github.com/lacs-project/sysknife/issues/335)). `--timeout` built an `ExecutionFailed` carrying a
timeout string, so an operator reading `execution failed:` had no way to tell
a command that ran and failed from one that never started. It is now its own
`TimedOut` variant, still exit 2, reported as `operation timed out after Ns`.
Separately, `audit checkpoint` with no database printed its own diagnostic and
returned a hardcoded exit 2; it now returns the configuration code 4 through
the normal error path. `docs/cli.md` documents what exit 2 covers, including
clap's usage errors.

### Fixed

- **A release pin that lost its `version` field passed the version check**
([#378](https://github.com/lacs-project/sysknife/pull/378), closes [#368](https://github.com/lacs-project/sysknife/issues/368)).
`check_release_versions.sh` piped its list of internal path dependencies
through `grep 'version = '` before validating them, so the one broken pin the
check exists to catch was the one the filter removed, and publication would
have failed later against crates.io instead. An absent pin is now its own
explicit failure, and `tests/release/release-version-pins.test.sh` proves it
by removing a pin and requiring the check to name the manifest.
