The Taskbox is a personal organization web app built to centralize daily life in one clean, distraction-free space.
Managing personal life across five different apps is exhausting. A notes app for tasks, a spreadsheet for finances, another app for habits, something else for what to watch, none of it talks to each other, and keeping everything in sync becomes its own job.
The Taskbox was built to solve that: one place for everything, with no friction between them. A new, centralized way to handle daily organization, where switching contexts means switching tabs, not switching apps.
It started as a personal need, and it's free, open to anyone who feels the same way.

Built with React and Vite for a fast, modular component architecture. Routing is handled by React Router v6 with protected routes and auth-aware navigation. The entire UI runs as a SPA with no page reloads.
Supabase powers the backend — PostgreSQL database with real-time capabilities, built-in authentication (email/password + session management), and Row Level Security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.
The app integrates several public APIs to enrich the experience:
- Open-Meteo — real-time weather and geolocation
- Open Library — book search and metadata
- TVMaze — series lookup
- OMDb — movie data
Deployed on Vercel with custom security headers (CSP, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy) and Vercel Analytics for usage insights. The domain thetaskbox.app runs fully on HTTPS with automatic SSL.
Fully designed and built by me — from the design system to the landing page illustrations.
The visual identity is built on a custom design system with two themes — light and dark — switchable at any time.
Typography is central to the aesthetic:
- NeueBit — used for UI labels, buttons, and the app logo
- PPMondwest — used for display headlines on the landing page
The landing page was designed from scratch with hand-drawn SVG column illustrations and a canvas-based physics animation (particles falling and bouncing from the columns).
The source code for this project is private. This repository exists to document and showcase the work.
