Anti-Slop adapted for OpenAI Codex and ChatGPT.
Reusable rules and skills for reducing generic AI-generated UI, copy, code comments, responsive-layout mistakes, and low-quality implementation patterns.
Codex • ChatGPT • Skills • Structure • Credits
anti-slop-codex is a fork/adaptation of the original Anti-Slop project, packaged around a portable OpenAI plugin manifest and repository instructions for Codex and ChatGPT workflows.
The goal is still the same: use Anti-Slop as a quality filter, not as a fixed visual style. It should reduce generic AI patterns without forcing every project to look or sound the same.
- Portable root
plugin.jsonfor OpenAI plugin packaging. .codex-plugin/plugin.jsoncompatibility metadata for Codex-oriented installs.AGENTS.mdas the repository-level Codex entry point.CHATGPT.mdas a ChatGPT/project fallback entry point.- A Windows Codex installer:
INSTALL_CODEX_WINDOWS.bat. - The original modular Anti-Slop skills remain available under
skills/. - Fork-specific branding and documentation while preserving upstream attribution and license information.
- Extract or clone this repository.
- Run:
INSTALL_CODEX_WINDOWS.bat
- Choose whether to install the included skills for the current project or for your user environment.
- Keep
AGENTS.mdin the project so Codex has a clear entry point for the rules.
You can also use the repository directly as a plugin package because the root contains plugin.json and the reusable skills are stored in skills/.
OpenAI's current plugin format can package reusable skills for supported ChatGPT and Codex surfaces. The root plugin.json follows that portable layout.
For ChatGPT accounts/workspaces with Skills or plugin installation available, use this repository/package as the source. Availability can vary by plan and workspace settings.
For a simple fallback that works without installing a custom skill, add these files to a ChatGPT Project or coding workspace:
CHATGPT.mdantislop.md- the relevant
skills/<name>/SKILL.mdfile when a task needs a specialized rule set
Then tell ChatGPT to follow CHATGPT.md and the Anti-Slop rules while working on the project.

Use the core skill by default, then add the specialized skill that matches the task.
When using this fork with Codex or ChatGPT:
- Inspect the existing implementation before editing.
- Preserve working architecture and behavior unless replacement is explicitly requested.
- Prefer the smallest compatible change instead of rebuilding entire systems unnecessarily.
- Avoid fake placeholders, fabricated metrics, filler copy, and generic AI-looking UI.
- Reuse existing components and patterns where they are already suitable.
- Verify the relevant build, test, lint, or runtime path before claiming the work is complete.
- State unresolved limitations clearly instead of hiding them.
