Summary

Resolves #2385 (Wildcard Track Proposal: Certified Commutative Merge Capsules merge[M]).

This PR implements the executable prototype, verification kernel, and formal falsifier/benchmark test harness for Certified Commutative Merge Capsules (merge[M]), providing wait-free parallel accumulation across tasks with zero locks, zero atomics, and zero channel contention during the parallel compute phase.

Architecture & Deliverables

  1. Wait-Free Runtime (spikes/w-commutative-merge-capsules/merge.go):

    • MergeCapsule[M]: Root coordinator tracking child shards and lifecycle.
    • Shard[M]: Affine, non-sendable capability allocated via Split() into each spawned task. Local accumulation occurs directly on s.Val with zero locks, zero atomics, and zero cacheline bouncing.
    • Settle(): Deterministic pairwise tree reduction in $O(\log N)$ depth, folding task shards back into root accumulator.
    • Abort() & Context(): Coordinated early error/cancellation handling without goroutine leaks or barrier deadlocks.
  2. Static Commutativity Decidability Gate (spikes/w-commutative-merge-capsules/verifier.py):

    • AST-level symbolic term evaluator with Associative-Commutative (AC) flattening (SymExpr).
    • Verifies purity (HYB-E3302: rejects I/O, timers, wall clocks, global mutations, panic/unwind escapes).
    • Verifies commutativity ($A \oplus B \equiv B \oplus A$) and associativity ($(A \oplus B) \oplus C \equiv A \oplus (B \oplus C)$).
    • Rejects non-commutative types (HYB-E3301: string/slice concatenation) with guidance redirecting to spawn-indexed fold[M].
    • Ultra-fast verification: average <0.35ms per reducer (well below the <20ms gate).
  3. 30-Case Validation Corpus (spikes/w-commutative-merge-capsules/test_verifier.py):

    • 15 Legal Reducers (15/15 PASS): Addition, product monoids, bitwise OR/AND/XOR semilattices, max/min functions, conditional semilattices, and multi-field metric accumulators.
    • 15 Illegal Reducers (15/15 REJECT): Subtraction, division, asymmetric scaling, last-write-wins overwrites, string concats, I/O writes, and side-effect calls.
  4. Concurrency & Benchmark Suite (spikes/w-commutative-merge-capsules/merge_test.go):

    • TestRaceFreedom: 64 parallel workers performing $6.4 \times 10^5$ updates passing clean under -race.
    • TestDeterminism: Bitwise identical outputs across repeated asymmetric runs.
    • TestDeadlockAndEarlyCancelImmunity: Clean cancellation without wedging.
    • Benchmarks vs sync.Mutex and buffered channels showing linear scaling and zero cache contention.
