This is based on the excellent #7 from @gbaril.

Modernized setup.py and requirements.txt with the help of Poetry (could be added in an additional PR if this one gets merged)
Added test instructions for CPython and PyPy
pytest is no runtime dependency anymore
Added a first changelog entry
