Samba-Manager Service does not start on clean Debian and Ubuntu

Hello!

I did try to install on a clean ubuntu25.04 and debian13 within a VM (i use Proxmox):
e.g: https://community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/scripts?id=debian-13-vm

Install seems to run ok, but after install the service samba-manager does not start and port 5000 stays closed.
Port 8080 is working with terminal - so as port 443 Samba

i was not luky to find any logs - but as i tried now debian and ubuntu in both lxc and vm i get the same result and i just wanted to know if an error is known at the moment?

In install dir have start bash file change ports and run bash

tried to change the port in run_with_sudo-sh -> but did not work. Or did you another script?

I got logs from service samba-manager status:
systemd[1]: samba-manager.service: Scheduled restart job, restart counter is at 1.
systemd[1]: Started samba-manager.service - Samba Manager Web Interface.
(python)[392]: samba-manager.service: Unable to locate executable '/opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python': No such file or directory
(python)[392]: samba-manager.service: Failed at step EXEC spawning /opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python: No such file or directory
systemd[1]: samba-manager.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=203/EXEC
systemd[1]: samba-manager.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.

seems that the venv was not made correct - but i do not know how to recreate it or fix it.
/opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python exists as a link but it seems to point into nowere.

Download the authentication-enabled installer

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lyarinet/samba-manager/main/install_with_auth.sh

Make it executable

chmod +x install_with_auth.sh

Run it with sudo

sudo ./install_with_auth.sh

Download the authentication-enabled installer

Make it executable

chmod +x install_with_auth.sh

Run it with sudo

sudo ./install_with_auth.sh

Hi, I have tried all these scriptable install methods and including auth from github and unfortunately not work.
Also noting one script is cd Samba-Manager when such folder not exists - it is samba-manager.
am using Debian Trixie LTS.

Same situation... looks like the python3 symlink is pointing to an invalid location

A workaround until this is fixed:

# Replace the invalid symlink
rm /opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python3
ln -s /usr/bin/python3 /opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python3

# Install missing dependencies 
/opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python3 -m ensurepip
/opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python3 -m pip install -r /opt/samba-manager/requirements.txt

# Start the manager service
systemctl restart samba-manager

Install missing dependencies

/opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python3 -m ensurepip
/opt/samba-manager/venv/bin/python3 -m pip install -r /opt/samba-manager/requirements.txt

Start the manager service

systemctl restart samba-manager

It works perfectly with this fix on a container in Proxmox, thanks
