Can't @ Roles in DIscord

I have a bot that sends messages and works perfectly if I @ an individual user and pings them appropriately.

If you @ a Role it doesn't ping the role it just adds it as text.

Is there a specific way to do this or is it just that that functionality doesn't exist yet?

@PixelShorts Unfortunately, it's not yet implemented. I'll probably add it in the next major release. Until then PR's welcomed ))

@maddingamer I'm planning to add this feature to the next release. Btw here are milestone goals for that release.
As I described here, I've started the realization, but due to some problems, I've suspended this for now.
