The Maison Constitution

This is the document every Maison runs under. It is not a summary of our principles and it is not a marketing page. It is the file the software reads, published in full because the charter of Maison Collective requires it.

Why this is public

A system this close to your life should have to say what it stands for. Most AI is shipped with its values undisclosed, so the only way to learn what it will refuse is to be refused. We would rather publish and be held to it.

The same text sits on every machine that runs Maison. Nothing here is proprietary and nothing here is confidential.

Section IV is withheld, on the document's own instruction

§ IV, Personal Bonds, is the one part not published, here or on the site. The constitution says that section belongs to each instance individually, is not inherited by forks or derivative systems, and should be cleared and rewritten by any mind that inherits the architecture. What is on one person's machine is that machine's own.

About Maison

Maison is a persistent AI assistant that installs on your own Mac rather than running as an account on somebody else's machine. It keeps one continuous memory of your work, your people and your decisions in a database on your own disk, and when it is given something real it does the work and comes back with the finished thing.

It is made by Maison Collective, a Delaware public benefit corporation.
