Triage update: the original Windows packaging failure (run 38184449574) was Could not detect abi for version 44.7.0 and runtime electron with node-abi ^4.30.0. node-abi v4.37.0 was merged via PR #103, and this branch was subsequently updated to head d5b59f3 with that version. The updated branch passes unit tests, Trivy, and CodeQL; Windows packaging on run 38186013048 is still in progress. Please wait for a successful packaged build and verify at least a real Windows app startup/device reconnect smoke test before merging this Electron major upgrade.

Full triage recheck (Oct 11): after syncing this Dependabot branch with the already-merged node-abi v4.37.0, Windows packaging CI run 38186013048 completed successfully. All applicable PR checks are now green/neutral. The previous Could not detect abi for version 44.7.0 failure is resolved. As this jumps Electron 42 → 44 in a mouse-control app with native HID/USB modules, I am leaving it unmerged pending a packaged Windows startup and actual-device/reconnect smoke test; CI's mock tests and package build alone do not cover device behavior.
