Overview

Engineering implementation of the GOOSE Sources / Messages interaction handoff. Stacked on PR #49 at 927346b00e173b3416601d839649562ace88e721. Draft; do not merge ahead of its parent. No changes to the published v1.4.1 release.

Implemented

• Keyed multi-source filter using source MAC, APPID, control block and VLAN. Plain-click toggle, Ctrl toggle, Shift visible range and keyboard multiple selection. Empty scope = All; hidden selected keys remain retained.
• Sources search filters only left publisher explorer. Show repeats moved to right edge of Messages header. Timeline filter selects physical publisher-key union, not GoID.
• Historical message Inspector pin and live publisher focus remain independent.
• Decoder-owned DataSet value-change revision and timestamp survive high-rate retransmissions in the latest snapshot. No first-baseline, same-value state-number or sqNum false positives. Ambiguous ConfRev/DataSet/type layout is rebaselined.
• Per-source transient Changed marker and bounded visible history batch highlight, without flashing retransmissions.
• Follow-live automatically follows newest visible appended row once per UI batch, and suspends for mouse/keyboard interaction, scroll, row selection or context-menu; explicit Follow live to resume. No auto-selection.
• Selected stale publishers retained in 256-row catalog. Added positive/negative physical-key, multiple stale, retrans and revision expiry tests.

Still pending — physical GUI operator acceptance

Live 20+ publisher stress, repeated ordinary frames vs actual DataSet value change, 0/one/Ctrl/Shift selections, same GoID distinct MAC, source search with hidden selected keys, stale/reappear, old event Inspector pin during live updates, scroll suspension/resume, 1366×768 at 100/125/150% DPI, package update/repair on the target PC. Green automated gates do not prove Windows physical input/scroll acceptance.

Superseded by merged PR #51 (and its prerequisites #48/#49), now published in public stable v1.4.2. The published implementation contains keyed multi-source selection, decoded event evidence, shared acknowledgement, Follow live, and the operator-requested compact red unread dot. PR #50's older standalone approach includes transient change timers and would regress the released SSOT UX if merged. Closing as superseded; no commits are lost from the stable release and no physical bench evidence is being claimed.
