1 Minute Candidate is a dual-sided platform connecting political candidates directly with voters through short-form video. Candidates record and submit 60-second-or-less videos via a guided mobile app. Voters use the same app — or the web — to instantly find and watch videos of every candidate on their specific ballot.
The platform solves a persistent problem in American democracy: most voters, especially in local and state elections, have no fast, reliable way to hear directly from the candidates they are about to vote for. 1 Minute Candidate changes that — including in the voting line itself.
Originally launched in 2015–2016 (KC Startup Weekend Winners, 2015), this rebuild leverages modern technology to finally deliver the full vision: a fully automated, scalable platform with a polished web frontend and native mobile apps for both iOS and Android.
