The 1.4.0 version on Tahoe launches, I can see it in the Activity Monitor, but never appears in the menu bar. I have a second machine configured similarly where it launches normally. (Though it does crash silently quite a bit). Let me know if I can pull any debug logs or system information for you.

Thanks for reporting, @duanefields. Looking at recent bug reports, it seems like recent macOS updates caused a few regressions across the board. Looking into this now.

FYI, The problem I reported was on macOS 26.3.1 (a). I will upgrade to 26.4 in the next few days and try again.

@duanefields Sorry for the long silence on this. I still haven't reproduced it, and 1.5.0 doesn't contain a targeted fix, though it changes a lot around launch. Two things would help narrow it down if you're up for trying the new build:

1. Whether the menu bar is full. On a MacBook, macOS silently drops menu bar items that don't fit next to the notch, and iMCP is a menu bar-only app, so it has nowhere else to show up. Quitting a couple of other menu bar apps for a moment is a quick check.
2. If that's not it, log show --predicate 'process == "iMCP"' --last 2m right after launching, attached here.

Hi @duanefields. 1.5.1 has a change that may help here. Gary's log in #232 showed macOS taking iMCP's menu bar item away right after launch, and I suspect the same thing is behind this report. 1.5.1 keeps the app running when that happens, and opening iMCP from Applications a second time now brings up Settings, which has a "Show in Menu Bar" toggle. On macOS 26, System Settings > Menu Bar also has a per-app switch worth checking. Could you try it and tell me what you see?
