Welcome to the ABD Iowa data model!
This project is built to showcase the tooling and logic behind modeling multi-source data through dbt.
The beverage data has been provided by the Alcoholic Beverage Department for the State of Iowa. This dataset has be published monthly since 2012 and is widely used to teach junior data engineers and data scientist to interact with large datasets. The dataset contains 30 mln rows of individual invoices sent by the ABD Iowa to Liquor retailers in the state.
The data transformations are structured with the following layers:
- Staging (stg)
- Utilities (util)
- Marts (dim & fct)
- External (ext)
