Everyone else is using AI to get jobs, so why can't I?

Affectionately naming this project 'If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them'

Oh, if you are reading this, you must be stalking my GitHub account. Which must mean that I linked it in my resume or something... In that case, hello! If you are a recruiter, this script is likely how I found you! How do you feel about that?

And, no, this code is not very professional, as you can see from my comments and other antics. Forgive me for trying to have a little fun in the fiery hellscape that is the job market.

Usage

You're going to want to run this in a virtual environment

1. Clone the repo

2. Put your preferences in job-boards.yml and user.yml

3. Start Virtual Environment:

   source .venv/bin/activate

4. Run the script:

   uv run just_scrape.py

   or

   python just_scrape.py

   or whatever you wanna do. I'm not your dad.

just_scrape.py will put the scraped job listings in the output folder. When I have it working, scrape_and_analyze.py will do that and run a custom analysis on which jobs look like a good fit. For now, you can feed the output from just_scrape.py into your chosen NLP for a breakdown of the best options

This has been fun. Now I am going to make a tier list of some of the most popular songs by The Smiths, arbitrarily chosen.

S-Tier

• Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me - This song makes me feel like I'm leaving behind something that promised me all my greatest dreams and didn't deliver. It tears my heard right out and then tucks me into bed. Plus the riff Johnny plays throughout is so fun to play. I could play this all day.
• Panic - BUUUUUURN DOWN THE DISCOOOOOOO. Gosh it's so good. Makes me want to start the most wholesome riot in the world
• Asleep - Did you know Johnny Marr could play the piano too? God, I wish I could be him.
• Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now - "Two lovers intwined, pass me by, and heaven knows I'm miserable now. I was looking for a job and then I found a job, and heaven knows I'm miserable now." Mood.

A-Tier

• Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want This Time - There's a cover of this song in one of my favorite childhood movies, Sky High. It's so good. Kinda fun to strum on acoustic guitar when you're in the mood. Love it.
• This Charming Man - PUNCTUUUURED BICYCLEEEEE Yeah this is a bop. Undisputed. I'll try to be charming, Morrissey.
• Girlfriend In A Coma - This is my dad's favorite Smiths song.

B-Tier

• Bigmouth Strikes Again - I mean, it's great. I love this song. Not much else to say.
• Half a Person - I wish that was the story of my life. Not fair

The Smiths are not capable of creating anything less than B-Tier

I'm going to stop writing this tier list now so I can write code. Maybe I'll work on it when I'm bored.
