Cookie Classifier for Consentmo

A Claude skill that classifies unclassified cookies from a Consentmo GDPR cookie consent export and produces a ready-to-import CSV.

Built for Shopify stores. Works with any Consentmo cookie scan export.

What It Does

1. Reads a Consentmo cookie export CSV
2. Identifies all unclassified cookies
3. Looks up each cookie against a known-cookies reference database (80+ pre-classified cookies)
4. Researches any remaining unknowns via web search
5. Classifies each cookie into the correct Consentmo category (Necessary, Preferences, Statistics, Marketing)
6. Outputs a Consentmo-compatible import CSV
7. Flags cookies that need manual entry (special characters, long names) with exact field values

Install

Download the cookie-classifier.skill file and upload it to your Claude project, or copy the SKILL.md and references/ folder into your Claude skill directory.

Usage

Upload a Consentmo cookie export CSV to Claude and ask:

"Classify these cookies and give me an import file"

Claude will follow the skill workflow and hand you back a clean CSV ready to import into Consentmo, plus manual-add instructions for any cookies that won't survive the CSV import.

Known Cookies Database

The references/known-cookies.md file contains pre-classified cookies commonly found on Shopify stores. This saves web search time and ensures consistent classification across audits.

Currently covers: Analyzify, Heatmap.com, Reeview, Sojern, CJ Affiliate, TikTok, Reddit, Yotpo, ReturnGO, Fenix Commerce, Gorgias, StackAdapt, LiveIntent, MediaMath, PostHog, Tangiblee, Shopify native cookies, Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook, Snapchat, Bing/Microsoft, Klaviyo, AdRoll, Xandr, Adform, Swym, Snowplow, Amplitude, Matomo, Cloudflare, Consentmo, YouTube, and more.

Contributing New Cookies

When you discover a new cookie during an audit, add it to the appropriate provider section in known-cookies.md following the existing table format:

Consentmo Import Notes

• Consentmo may truncate cookie names over ~20 characters
• Colons (:) and other special characters in cookie names will fail CSV import. Add these manually via the Consentmo UI.
• Valid categories: Necessary Cookies, Preferences Cookies, Statistics Cookies, Marketing Cookies
• Valid durations: Session, 1 day, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 13 months, 90 days, Persistent

Verifying Unknown Cookies

When a cookie's provider can't be determined from its name or web search, verify it in Chrome DevTools:

1. Open the storefront in Chrome, press F12
2. Go to Application tab > Cookies > click your store domain
3. Search for the cookie name, check the Domain column
4. If the domain is your own store (first-party JS cookie), go to Sources tab > Ctrl+Shift+F > search the cookie name to find which script sets it
