…account app.html?demo=selfhelp and ?demo=novel open the real workspace on a cleaned public-domain text (As a Man Thinketh, 1903; The Secret Garden, chapters 1-8, 1911). demo-boot.js runs only when ?demo= is present: it swaps the Firebase SDK for the in-memory double (demo-firebase.js, moved to the root from the test fixture), keeps every save in a throwaway in-memory storage so nothing is left in the browser, refuses every /api call, hides Save and Account, and shows a banner with the other sample and a link to create an account. The double's user has no tier and the server would reject its token, so the demo grants nothing. The sample is loaded through the app's own upload path, so the demo is the product, not a mock. Homepage: the hero's secondary action becomes "Try the workspace" and the how-it-works link becomes "Try it on a novel"; #signup opens the sign-up dialog. The local server now serves assets/samples/*.txt. The smoke test opens both samples and asserts no API call, no visible save, a free tier, and the novel's cast in the navigator.
