VERIS — Methodology (Public)

VERIS is an independent, neutral verification layer for copy-trading risk and track-record authenticity. We take platform-level raw trading data and adjudicate, descriptively, whose performance record is structurally real — martingale fingerprints, deposit-propped balances, shared-origin account clusters, market-consistency of fills — then seal every finding cryptographically so that neither we nor the platform can rewrite it afterwards.

Everything VERIS publishes describes the past. Nothing is a prediction or investment advice.

Contents

  • WHITEPAPER.md — the full public methodology: every signal (what / why / parameters / limits / known gaps), the grade thresholds (frozen), the seal structure, and the honest list of open problems.
  • keys/veris-demo-ed25519.pub.pem — the ed25519 public key for verifying attestation signatures. This is the demo key used for the current pilot build; production engagements are signed with a dedicated production key published here upon rotation.

Why publish the method?

A verification layer that hides its method is asking to be trusted on faith — exactly the failure mode it exists to fix. The method is deliberately public and the thresholds are frozen in versioned documents: our moat is not the algorithm, it is neutrality plus an accumulating, externally time-anchored record of sealed judgments that no later entrant can backfill.

The core signals — real P&L, and whether fills reconcile against real market ranges — are ground truth. Knowing how we check does not make them fakeable.

Verifying an attestation

Every attestation card carries content_hash (SHA-256 over canonical content), an ed25519 signature, and expires_at. See §6 of the whitepaper for the four verification layers, from a five-second signature check to a full bit-for-bit pipeline re-run under audit agreement.
