The File Organizer Application is a Windows-based tool designed to organize a large collection of files, including images, videos, documents (PDFs, etc.), and Google Photos metadata. This application automates the process of sorting files based on their creation dates into specified destination folders.
- Folder Selection: Select a source folder containing unorganized files and designate a destination folder for organized files.
- File Type Selection: Specify which types of files (images, videos, documents) to organize.
- Organizational Criteria: Choose the format for organizing files based on creation date, such as by year> month> day, year>month, or file type > year.
- Metadata Handling: Reads metadata from files, including Google Photos metadata, to accurately organize based on creation dates.
- Select Source and Destination: Choose the source folder containing unsorted files and define a target destination folder.
- Specify File Types: Select the types of files (e.g., images, videos) you want to organize.
- Set Organizational Format: Choose how files should be organized based on creation dates (e.g., by month, day).
- Run the Application: Click "Proceed" to start the organization process.
Currently, the application is designed for Windows operating systems. Follow these steps to install and run the application:
- Download the latest release from the Releases page.
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file to a location of your choice.
- Double-click on the executable file (
FileOrganizer.exe) to launch the application.
