chore(release): cut 2.0.0 (version number assumed — confirm before tagging) - #35
Conversation
Bump the version, freeze the Unreleased notes as the `## 2.0.0` section the promote job publishes verbatim, and record the icon exceptions the code already made deliberately: the agent brand marks inlined by design review F1 so they follow the theme tone, and the parked 2026-09-18 gallery record whose `×` appears only in prose describing the DL-27.25 `×N` count. Document the packaged Electron Sentry flow in both privacy disclosures. Packaged Electron builds enable Sentry crash and error reporting without an opt-out. The Settings → Privacy copy and linked privacy notice describe only usage analytics and Cloudflare. Add Sentry (ingest.us.sentry.io), the crash-reporting flow, and its no-opt-out status to both disclosures. Describe the collected data without asserting event fields that the implementation does not establish.

Synchronize the native version declarations before merging.
package.json now sets 2.0.0, but .github/workflows/release.yml requires the package, src-tauri/Cargo.toml, and src-tauri/tauri.conf.json versions to match. The supplied native declarations remain 0.12.3, so release validation rejects the release. Update all declarations to the confirmed release version before tagging.

The rail-click locator and the working-agent current both spent yellow on a pane's top edge. Neither survives: `pingPane` and its slot overlay are gone, `setPaneWorking` leaves the TerminalManager contract with the `is-agent-working` class it drove, and `--pane-focus-current-duration` goes with the animations that were its only readers. DL-18.11 keeps its number and now reads as the prohibition, so the rule cannot be re-taken; the scoped-exception counts in DL-3.1/3.2, DL-27.3 and DL-27.25 lose the member they were counting, and DL-21.2's note loses the clause that deferred to it. `design-language.test.ts` asserts the absence it used to assert the shape of. `electron:dev` has been the watcher since b3180fd, with `electron:dev:watch` an alias and `electron:dev:once` the build-and-launch path, but the three pages a contributor reads still described the old build-then-launch behaviour. States what the watcher rebuilds incrementally and that a main/preload change restarts Electron, interrupting live terminals and unsaved buffers. Prepares the v2.0.0 release. Cut from
origin/mainat88974b3in a clean worktree.The version number
2.0.0is my assumption, taken from "Deck V2". Nothing public hashappened yet — the trigger tag
build/v2.0.0is not pushed. If the number should be1.3.0or anything else, say so and I will amend this branch; changing it after the tagis pushed is not free.
What this changes
package.json+package-lock.json:1.2.0→2.0.0, vianpm version --no-git-tag-version.CHANGELOG.md:## Unreleased→## 2.0.0. Thepromotejob matches$0 == "## " verexactly and refuses to publish a stable tag whose section is missing, so this rename is a
release ingredient, not bookkeeping. The notes themselves are unchanged and want your
review — they are what ships as the public release body.
scripts/icon-system.test.ts: records three exceptions the code already made deliberately(see below). No product code is touched.
Why the icon test needed changing
npm testwas red onorigin/mainbefore this branch — this is not a new breakage:lib/agent-logos.tsandui/controls/agent-glyph.tsxauthor an inline<svg fill="currentColor">. That was the deliberate fix ina376be7(design review F1,2026-09-18): the marks' assets are
fill="#fff", so as an<img>they vanished on thelight theme. The change cited DL-2.2/DL-1.3 in its own comment but never added the files
to
ALLOWED_SVG. Added now, with the reason.gallery/sections/before-after-2026-09-18.tsxcontains×only insidenote="..."prose describing the DL-27.25
×Ncount ("the segment, the ×2 and the open row"),never as a control. Exempted per-file on the same grounds as the neighbouring
strip-actions-variants.tsx, not by a blanketgallery/rule.No DL rule is relaxed. The close control on those cards is still Phosphor's
XthroughDeckIcon, still asserted inworktree-card.test.tsx.Gates run (in the clean worktree, on this branch)
npm run generate:menu:checknpm run buildnpm run electron:buildnpx vitest run scripts/icon-system.test.tsnpm testsearch-bar.test.tstimeoutnpx vitest run src/terminal/search-bar.test.tsnpx prettier --checkon the four filessearch-bar.test.tsis the known full-suite flake: it times out under parallel load andpasses alone, and it failed identically on
origin/mainbefore any edit here. Attributed, not fixed.
Not run: manual native acceptance, real-device upgrade checks, Windows install/update
checks. Omitted, not successful.
electron/crash-reporting/init.tsandsrc/telemetry/crash-reporting.tssend to Sentry onorigin/main. Neitherdocs/internals/telemetry.mdnor the changelog's### Privacysection mentions it — the section documents the update-check counts and stops there.
The repo's own standing commitment is that analytics is always on, with no opt-out, and
the disclosure stays. Shipping a third-party crash reporter that no user-facing document
names is a gap against that commitment, not a style nit. I have left it alone because the
release was approved, but I would rather add a sentence to
telemetry.mdand a### Privacybullet here before this merges. Say the word.
What is NOT in this release
about removing the yellow pane lines. Untouched, unstashed, still yours.
main.git cherryshowsorigin/mainalready carries every local commit rebased, plus seven fixes local lacks, so local
mainis stale rather than divergent. Nothing wasreconciled and nothing needs to be.
After merge
build/v2.0.0gets pushed — the runbook requires the tagged commit to be reachable fromorigin/mainand the tag to equalpackage.json's version, and neither holds until thislands. That tag push is the first public, hard-to-reverse step; I will wait for your merge.
