Enhanced BitcoinRpcService:
- Added request timing capabilities to monitor performance
- Implemented
getRequestStats()method to get timing statistics - Added request history tracking for up to 100 recent requests
-
Added Analytics Components:
- Created
FeeTrendChartcomponent to visualize transaction fee trends - Created
BlockTimeChartcomponent to display block time distributions - Created
TimeSeriesChartbase component using Chart.js for visualization
- Created
-
Updated Documentation:
- Enhanced README.md with detailed documentation on analytics capabilities
- Added usage examples for the new analytics components
- Documented performance monitoring features
-
Created Demo Application:
- Built a comprehensive analytics dashboard demo page
- Added mock data demonstration showing how components would work
- Created a simple HTML entry point for viewing the demo
- Added build script to compile both the library and demo
The BitcoinRpcService now includes built-in performance tracking with:
- Request timing for all RPC calls
- Statistics on average, maximum, and minimum request times
- History tracking for up to 100 recent requests
Three new components for data visualization:
- FeeTrendChart: Shows transaction fee trends over time
- BlockTimeChart: Displays block time distributions
- TimeSeriesChart: Base component for custom charting
The architecture is designed to support:
- Easy addition of new chart types
- Custom analytics dashboards
- Extension to mempool and other Bitcoin data views
- Integration with Lightning Network data (future enhancement)
import AnalyticsDashboard from 'bitcoin-blockchain-explorer/demo/AnalyticsDashboard';
function App() {
return <AnalyticsDashboard />;
}import { FeeTrendChart, BlockTimeChart } from 'bitcoin-blockchain-explorer';
// Fee Trend Chart
<FeeTrendChart count={100} />
// Block Time Chart
<BlockTimeChart count={50} />The implementation follows best practices:
- TypeScript interfaces for type safety
- Error handling in all API calls
- Responsive design using Tailwind CSS classes
- Proper separation of concerns between service and components
- Efficient request history management
src/components/analytics/- New analytics componentssrc/demo/- Demo application showcasing featuressrc/services/bitcoinRpcService.ts- Enhanced with performance trackingindex.html- Simple HTML entry point for demobuild-demo.sh- Script to build the complete demo
- Create a Bitcoin node instance (you need to have access to one)
- Configure RPC credentials in src/services/bitcoinRpcService.ts:
const config = { host: '127.0.0.1', port: 8332, user: 'your_bitcoin_user', password: 'your_bitcoin_password' };
- Install the required dependencies:
npm install
- Build everything:
./build-demo.sh
- Open index.html in a browser to view the demo
- Run integration tests with a real Bitcoin node
- Add more chart types for additional analytics
- Implement caching strategies for better performance
- Add authentication and authorization features for production use
The implementation provides a solid foundation for analyzing blockchain data using time-series visualization capabilities and built-in performance monitoring.
