In PyJHora V4.8.7, the generic yoga dispatcher passes divisional_chart_factor as the third positional argument.
For mahabhagya_yoga_from_jd_place(), the third argument is gender, so the divisional chart number is interpreted as gender.
The gender selected in the GUI also does not appear to be passed to this calculation.
