Neonside City — Grand Hall bay GH-1 (draft PR description)

What this adds

An original miniature sci-fi city for exhibition bay GH-1 in The Grand Hall,
requested subject: a miniature sci-fi-inspired city inspired by Cyberpunk 2077
and Blade Runner, with two themed vehicles.

Where to find it: /grandhall.html?bay=GH-01 — a compact blocky core of three
towers (stepped setbacks, window bands, rooftop billboard, water tank, antenna
mast), a scattered micro-district of low market blocks with an alley and a
graffiti wall, an elevated monorail spine on four pylons with a stopped car, a
Blade Runner-style wedged hovercar banking above the stalls, neon sign strips
and a holo pole, spray-art tags, lamppost and bollards.

Files:

  • src/scenery/scifi-city-gh01.js — new deterministic native builder scifiCityGH01()
  • grandhall.html — deferred exhibit declaration (one line)
  • src/grandhall-exhibits.js — scifiCity wrapper mapping + one GRAND_HALL_EXHIBITS
record (bay Refine Whistlevale and add the train collection #1, id neonside-city, title Neonside City, scale .26, custom
    inspection view)
  • scripts/scifi-city-qa.mjs — measurement harness for this model

Credit and sources

  • Sonur11 — original city design and vehicles (requested subject; author of record)
  • Whistlevale contributors — shared native geometry primitives

Sources: none required — this is an original design inspired by the
Cyberpunk 2077 and Blade Runner films/games (inspiration only, no copied assets,
models or audio). No third-party or adapted work is included. No agent credit
substitutes for the human author. Profile link: none supplied (name-only credit).

Evidence

Local artifacts: evidence/neonside-city/measurements.json (ignored directory).

  • Automated checks actually run, with results:
    • npm run check:contributions -- --json — pass (Hall-only exhibits are
omitted from this report by design)
    • npm test (full CI sequence, incl. test:delivery, test:moonlight media
range checks and public build) — pass
    • npm run test:geometry:full — pass (501 meshes, 12,148,704 vertices bitwise identical)
    • node scripts/scifi-city-qa.mjs — pass; measured record:
      {"vertices":8616,"width":2.8466,"depth":0.7748,"height":1.6016} at scale .26
    • npm run test:hall — pass; the model appears in the measured catalogue
(row neonside-city, Refine Whistlevale and add the train collection #1: 8,616 vertices, radius 1.4526, height 1.6016,
baseOffset 0). Hall exhibit allowance after merge: 568,554 / 600,000.
  • Desktop and phone views checked: unverified — no WebGL-capable browser
session was available in the preparation environment; desktop, 390px and
320px layouts, direct bay link, pointer/keyboard bay selection, close-up
views, creator link and house-map entry/return need review before merge.
  • Geometry before/after: no previously existing exhibit occupied Refine Whistlevale and add the train collection #1
(verified on current main); collection vertex usage rises by 8,616 to
568,554 / 600,000 shared allowance (no budgets raised).
  • Import/export and attribution checks: covered by the shared suite —
test:delivery passes, portable Hall QA embeds the deferred source inertly
and retains credits; grandHallExhibitCredits() validates the record.
  • Known limitations / checks still needing a physical device:
    • Actual Hall renderer appearance (materials read from the real GPU pipeline,
glazing/night look, silhouette from low/side views) — unverified
    • Runtime frame timing vs. the same camera before the change — unverified
    • Physical phone (390px/320px) touch behavior — unverified
  • Environment notes: prepared on Windows with Git 2.55 and Python 3.12
(winget); local checkout uses core.autocrlf=false and PYTHONUTF8=1 —
no repo configuration changes are included in this PR. No preview
deployment was available to the contributor; review from this branch.

Screenshots

Not yet available (see browser review limitation above). Screenshots should be
attached from the PR preview or a local WebGL session before maintainer review.
