Members: Nolan Schiek, Luke Sapp, Jacob Johnson, Alan Tate, Prakhtar Singh

Project Description

Our project is an Availability Tracker for Study Rooms and Shared Spaces. The purpose of Availability Tracker is to show which study rooms are occupied or vacant, as well as the busiest and least busy hours of shared spaces such as the Recreation and Fitness Center, Cafe, and other hotspots across campus, in a low cost and efficient way.

Using signal feedback to determine if a device is located in the room the system identifies if the room is occupied. Starting as a web app with potential expansion to other platforms, the application will display which study rooms are taken and the busiest hours estimated occupancy of common shared spaces.

Value Proposition

Students can save time by locating a study room that is already available instead of spending time searching for one, this can reduce stress and help manage their time better. In addition, students can also observe the most and least busy hours of shared campus spaces, allowing them to plan their schedules, avoid overcrowded areas, and use tech services more efficiently.
