ESP32 UNO Board

Product Image

esp32-uno

Introduction

ESP32-Uno is a maker-friendly development board based on the Espressif ESP32-DOWD-V3 chip, designed with an Arduino Uno-compatible form factor for easy integration and use in maker projects. It features built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dual-mode communication, 4MB of onboard Flash storage, and supports four encoder motor channels plus two DC motor drives, each capable of delivering up to 1.2A current. Additionally, all remaining I/O pins are exposed on the board and clearly labeled in accordance with Espressif's official pin numbering, facilitating seamless peripheral expansion and connection.

Development Board Specifications

1. Core Interfaces

  • Power Supply and Programming Interface: Features a USB-C port that supports both data transfer and power delivery, compatible with C-to-C cables.
  • Serial Communication: Equipped with an onboard CH340G chip for USB-to-serial communication.
  • Status Indicator: An onboard LED (L) is connected to GPIO 13.

2. Motor Driver Ports This board integrates two independent motor driver channels. Each channel can be switched between "DC Motor Mode" and "General-Purpose GPIO Mode" via a toggle switch.

  • DC Motor Ports (PH2.0 Connector):
    • Channel M0: Control pins GPIO 27 (positive) / GPIO 13 (negative)
    • Channel M1: Control pins GPIO 4 (positive) / GPIO 2 (negative)
    • Maximum continuous drive current per channel: 1.2A.
  • Encoder Motor Ports (GH1.25 Connector):
    • The encoder motor channels share pins with the DC motor channels and cannot be used simultaneously.
    • Channel E0: Encoder pins GPIO 19 (Phase A) / GPIO 18 (Phase B); drive pins are shared with M0.
    • Channel E1: Encoder pins GPIO 23 (Phase A) / GPIO 5 (Phase B); drive pins are shared with M1.

3. GPIO Pin Description A total of 22 GPIO pins are accessible on the board, with their functions defined as follows:

  • Digital I/O Pins (16): 0, 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 25, 26, 27
    • Note: GPIOs 2, 4, 13, and 27 are defaulted for motor drive. They can be used as general-purpose I/O after switching modes.
  • Analog Input-Only Pins (6): 32(A4), 33(A5), 34(A6), 35(A7), 36(A0), 39(A3). These pins support analog input function only.

4. Communication Interfaces

  • I2C Interface: Four groups of I2C interfaces are reserved. The default pins are GPIO 22 (SCL) and GPIO 21 (SDA).

5. Power Input

  • Supports power input via a 5.5×2.1mm DC jack, with an input voltage range of 6V to 16V.

6. Physical Specifications & Software Support

  • Dimensions: 68.6 mm × 53.4 mm, fully compatible with the footprint and form factor of the Arduino Uno R3.
  • Development Environment: Supports programming and firmware upload via Arduino IDE and MicroPython.
