Why

The user's real median wait is 1.44 s with 1.19 s in the engine, while CI measures the release step at 0.2–0.4 s. The log can't say whether the gap is queueing behind a piece, a long final pass, or a slow PC.

What

  • Dictation.release: worker state at release (idle / piece / preview / covering preview), time until the worker was free, audio left, release-step time, whether the preview heard everything.
  • One extra log line per dictation (release: …); no dictated text.
  • weekly_check.py summarizes it (medians, 90th percentiles, counts).
  • Bench clock namespace gains perf_counter.
  • Test: the record after a release whose preview heard everything.

After each dictation the app now logs one more line: what the worker was
doing when the key was let go (idle, a piece, a preview, or a preview that
covers everything), how long it took to become free, how much audio was
left, how long the release step took, and whether the preview had already
heard everything. weekly_check.py sums these up, so next week's log shows
whether the user's ~1.2 s engine time is queueing behind a piece or the
final pass itself.
