omega-collapse (historical / superseded)

Restart status: The current VOT / The Pleasure Order restart status is summarized in RESTART_STATUS.md. Earlier Omega empirical and reproducibility materials should be read as historical, methodological, or exploratory unless explicitly reauthorized. This repository is not the current project center and should not be read as current validation of Omega.

Self-retraction applies to this repository. The Ω-centered empirical layer described below was self-retracted on 2026-05-31 — see the Empirical Layer Boundary Note (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20474232). Ω-centered empirical validation is not currently supported. Everything below is retained as a fixed historical record of what was claimed and how, not as a result you may cite.

Boundary note: The earlier Ω-centered empirical layer should not be treated as current validation. Existing V1 materials remain historical, fixed, and Ω-centered. High ratio alone is not evidence. Future empirical claims require independent event labels, frozen definitions, anti-circularity review, sufficient support counts, and validation design before evaluation.

Historical record (V1, retracted layer — do not cite as evidence)

The V1 framing was: "Collapse is not about level — but structure." It proposed Ω as imbalance × direction and tested whether independently defined collapse-like events concentrate in high-Ω rows under fixed ex-ante definitions.

What that framing got wrong / what is now known: structural concentration under fixed definitions is not validation of Ω. Concentration ratios alone are not evidence, and the subsequent head-to-head test found that order gated by critical slowing does not beat free-energy signals (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21422215, 2026-07-18, negative result).

Historical Zenodo records, retained for provenance only — all superseded by the boundary note above:
